Jamie Kaminski, general manager for Happy Stan’s Recycling Services Ltd., toured Metro Materials Toronto facility last week during his stay for the CARI workshop on end-of-life electronics where he also viewed both the geep and MaSeR facility.

Metrotown Center held their first ever electronics round-up, offering anybody to come and drop-off their unwanted electronics. This was part of Metropolis at Metrotown's Earth Day Celebration. Over a one week period, over 42,944 pounds of electronic waste was diverted from landfills and sent to Happy Stan’s Recycling Services where the electronics are dismantled and properly recycled through various smelters.

Happy Stan’s Recycling is proud to claim the title of, "First privately owned company to sign a contract with Teck Cominco for the purpose of electronics recycling, and send electronic scrap to Teck Cominco for recycling.” Candis and Jamie drove the first shipment of whole CRTs to KC Recycling in Trail Tuesday morning. KC is a company who provides shredding services to Teck Cominco.
