Busy as Bees

This summer has been a busy summer. You could almost say that we have been busy as bees...

Late one Afternoon, Happy Stan’s Recycling was over taken by a swarm of honey bees. After several hours of searching for a new home, they finally decided to set up camp on our Bob Cat. By the next morning, the bees had already started to produce their famous bee’s wax for their hive.

With the help of the local beekeeper, the bees were relocated to a bee farm. “If only they had set-up shop a little more out of the way, we could have let them stay!” Said Happy Stan, owner of Happy Stan’s recycling.

Electronics Recycling Services

On a much sadder note, Happy Stan’s Recycling Services Ltd. has been denied, by Encorp Pacific, inclusion in the end-of-life electronic stewardship program as a designated collection facility. Their reason stated,” Happy Stan’s Recycling Services Ltd. does not meet the needs of the marketplace.”

Despite not being reimbursed by Encorp for the end-of-life electronics we collect, we have decided to continue collecting electronics for the program in order to service the needs of our customers. The value you will receive by sending your electronics to Happy Stan’s Recycling Services is being assured that we take all necessary precautions to protect your privacy by destroying all hard drives. Our pick-ups are prompt and efficient, and there are no special packaging requirements.

In the meantime, we are posting a petition to the ministry of environment that states that,” Encorp Pacific should be forced to make a reasonable effort to include companies that were already in the electronic recycling industry before the stewardship program began, by way of allowing them to become designated collectors provided they meet all necessary EPSC guidelines for collection.”

Office Partition & Workstation Recycling

Often, for one reason or another, companies change workstation. Maybe because it is outdated or falling apart or maybe because they moved buildings and the old workstation was a custom fit. Whatever the case may be, many companies feel that there is no value in recycling these stations due to the mixed nature of the materials involved.

At Happy Stan’s Recycling Services we go the extra mile to take your partitions and workstations apart so that what can be recycled is recycled. Next time you are changing your office or getting rid of old workstations that can’t be reused, give Happy Stan’s a call and request a quote. We look forward to providing an environmentally friendly solution to your junk removal needs.

Plastics, Plastics, Plastics!!!

Just because there isn’t a little 1,2,3,4,5,6, or 7 marked somewhere on your plastic doesn’t mean it can’t be recycled. All that means is that it isn’t one of the magnificent 7.

There are many types of plastics that are readily recyclable that do not have the code marked on the bottom. Over the next few issues, Happy Stan’s Recycling is going to let you know about certain recyclable plastics that most people throw out because it does not have a little number stamped on it.

CDs, DVDs, and their CASES
At Happy Stan’s Recycling Services, we accept both CDs and DVDs for recycling along with their cases. Our only request is that you please separate the disks from their cases; we will take care of the rest.
