Remembrance Day

It is the VETERAN, not the preacher,
Who has given us freedom of religion.
It is the VETERAN, not the reporter,
Who has given us freedom of the press.
It is the VETERAN, not the poet,
Who has given us freedom of speech.
It is the VETERAN, not the campus organizer,
Who has given us freedom to assemble.
It is the VETERAN, not the lawyer,
Who has given us the right to a fair trial.
It is the VETERAN, not the politician,
Who has given us the right to vote.

It is the VETERAN,
Who salutes the Flag,

It is the veteran,
Who serves under the Flag,

ETERNAL REST GRANT THEM O LORD,
AND LET PERPETUAL LIGHT SHINE UPON THEM.

Our Services: Destruction of Merchandise

Often, merchandise that is unmarketable ends up going to landfill so they are not resold at reduced rates by a third party. At Happy Stan’s Recycling, we will take obsolete, defective or returned merchandise and destroy it via dismantling, cutting, or crushing, and then sell whatever material possible as a recyclable commodity.

Happy Stan’s Recycling does not resell merchandise; we only sell commodities such as: non-ferrous and ferrous metals, plastics, paper fibres, printed circuit boards, and lead acid batteries. A certificate of destruction is issued upon completion of the destruction of the merchandise so you can be reassured that nothing was resold.

Happy Holidays!

With the Holiday season coming near, it’s getting to be that time where we all creak down our basement steps, dust off those beat-up old boxes, and start testing our Christmas lights. If, for whatever, reason you feel you need to replace those old Christmas light strands, we would like to let you know that Happy Stan’s Recycling Services is able to recycle old light stands as long as the lights are removed. They can simply be dropped-off at our local indoor drop-off area, at 1603 Langan Avenue in Port Coquitlam, or you can request a quote for a pick-up via email or telephone.

Plastics, Plastics, Plastics - Part 3

To re-cap our last two issues regarding plastics, we repeat... Just because there isn’t a little 1,2,3,4,5,6, or 7 marked somewhere on your plastic doesn’t mean it can’t be recycled. All that means is that it isn’t one of the magnificent 7.

There are many types of plastics that are readily recyclable that do not have the code marked on the bottom. Another great recyclable plastic is Plastic bags and shrink-wrap, clear or colored. At Happy Stan’s, we accept all types of plastic bags from the ones you bring home from the grocery store to the clear bags your dry cleaning comes in. We also take the shrink-wrap that was used to package your pallets of merchandize. For best packaging practices, simply stuff one plastic bag full of other bags and then tie the end, this makes for easy handling on both your end and ours.
